"Unforgettable Riddle...Celebrate the Legacy"
University of Arizona School of Music & Dance
February 2-3, 2001
"Unforgettable Riddle...Celebrate the Legacy" featured the University Symphony Orchestra, Jazz Ensembles, and special guest Linda Ronstadt, in tribute performances to composer/arranger Nelson Riddle. The concerts featured selections for which the award-winning musician is most famed. Ronstadt, a Tucson favorite who has earned worldwide acclaim, performed a variety of music including selections from "What's New," "Lush Life," and "For Sentimental Reasons," her award-winning albums featuring Riddle's lush arrangements.
The concert celebrated the establishment of the Nelson Riddle Endowed Chair in Music, the Naomi Riddle Fund for the Advancement of the School, and the dedication of the Nelson Riddle Archives. All these were made possible through the generous bequest from the estate of the late Naomi Riddle, widow of the musician.
